Daniel Gemana is a prominent figure in the agricultural sector, serving as the Managing Director/CEO of Vertex Agro Ltd in Nigeria, Agroexperts International in Kenya and Tanzania, and holding directorships in several other companies. He holds a degree in agriculture from the University of Ilorin and further qualifications from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, an MBA in Federal University of Technology Yola, and General Management Program certification from Harvard Business School USA.
He began his career as an agricultural officer and progressed to roles such as
Farm Manager at Birma Agric Borno State, Agric Extension Services
Manager at Afcott Plc (owners of Sonula Oil), and Regional Sales/Marketing
Manager at Springfield Agro Limited (subsidiary of Afcott). He founded Vertex Agro Ltd, which has become a global player in the agricultural sector, particularly in the cashew kernel markets in USA, Canada, South America, Europe and the sesame seed market in Japan and represented in Nigerian stores by its popularly known brand DODAN FOODS, which producers peanut butter, cashew butter and roasted nuts.
He is a member of several national and international bodies and associations, including the International Nuts & Dried Fruits Council and the Vietnam Cashew Association. He has been invited as a key speaker at global conferences and has received awards for his contributions to agriculture. Gemana has attended various courses and has been recognized for his contributions to agriculture, receiving awards such as the Rotary Club merit award and the Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Platinum Distinguish Leadership Award. He has also been appointed as a United Nations (UN) Smart Ambassador on Sustainable Development Goals.
His spiritual journey began during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, where he was converted under Kano Christian Corpers Fellowship. He joined the Deeper Life Bible Church in Borno State and actively engaged in the church's activities, starting as a "Search the Scripture" teacher and later becoming a Hausa language interpreter. He currently holds positions in the church, including State Corpers Coordinator and President of the Young Professionals Forum (YPF) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Nigeria.
